What are the ways to earn?
There are three streams of earning:
Trading fees - earn a % of fees every time your referrals trade on Nansen. Automatically, every time. See the table above on how referrals works for trading.
Subscriptions - earn 10% when a new user purchases a paid plan through your referral link (first 12 months).
API credits - earn 10% on each confirmed API credit purchase by your referrals (first 12 months).
How much do I earn per trade my referrals make?
Your earning rate depends on your Points tier:
Rates apply to trading fees only. Subscriptions and API credits earn 10% on direct referrals (L1) for 12 months from first payment.
What are L2 and L3 earnings?
When your referrals refer other people, you earn a percentage of their trading activity too - not just your direct referrals.
L1 is your direct referrals
L2 is their referrals
L3 goes one level further.
Compound earnings only apply to trading. Subscriptions and API credits earn on direct referrals only.
How do subscription referrals work?
When a new customer pays for a Nansen subscription through your unique affiliate link via self-service checkout, you earn a reward. The purchase has to be completed through your link in a single transaction.
What counts as a successful referral?
A new user - someone who hasn't registered before, or an existing user who hasn't yet purchased a qualifying plan - completes a purchase using your affiliate code.
If a referred user refunds, charges back, or cancels within the refund window, any commission earned on that referral is reversed and deducted from your next payout
Commission isn't paid out for referrals from bots, fake accounts, spammy behaviour, or anything else that violates the Terms.
Do renewals or repeat purchases count?
Not for subscription rewards - those are based on first purchases only.
What keeps compounding over time is trading volume, which is covered in the next section.
Do my referrals need a paid subscription for me to earn?
No - revenue share is on trading fees. As long as your referral is trading on Nansen, you're earning.
Do my referrals get a discount?
Yes. Anyone who signs up through your link automatically gets 10% off any paid plan - no code needed on their end, no action needed from you. It just applies.
Do affiliates earn Nansen Points (NXP)?
Simply put, for every $1 of commission (via subscriptions, API, trading) you earn = 1 NXP.
This includes renewals for the first year of the referred users sub! This is a specific benefit that only applies to referrals made through the Affiliate program.
What if I already have referrals from previous seasons?
They carry over. Existing referrals count toward your Season 04 tier.
Are revenue share rates applied retroactively?
No. The fee and rev share structure applies from June 15 onwards.
What if a customer clicks my link but completes the purchase later, or through a sales rep?
That won't generate a reward. The full purchase needs to happen through your affiliate link, in a single self-service transaction.
