Introduction

These API Supplemental Terms (the "API Terms") govern your access to and use of the application programming interfaces, associated documentation, software, and developer tools (collectively, the "API Services") provided by Nansen Pte. Ltd. ("Nansen", "we", "us", or "our"). The Model Context Protocol ("MCP") is treated as an access method to the API Services and is governed by these API Terms unless expressly stated otherwise.

These API Terms form a binding legal agreement between you or the entity you represent ("you", "your", or "Developer") and Nansen. By accessing or using the API Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these API Terms. If you do not agree to these API Terms, you must not access or use the API Services.

These API Terms supplement our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any other applicable agreements between you and Nansen (collectively, the "Agreements"). In the event of any conflict between these API Terms and the Agreements, these API Terms shall prevail with respect to your use of the API Services.

License and Access Rights

Limited License

Subject to your compliance with these API Terms and the Agreements, Nansen grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the API Services solely for your internal business purposes in accordance with the documentation provided by Nansen. This license does not include any right to copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, transfer, or otherwise make available the API Services to any third party except as expressly permitted in writing by Nansen.

API Credentials

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any API keys, access tokens, or other credentials (collectively, "API Credentials") provided to you by Nansen. You agree that you are solely responsible for all activities that occur using your API Credentials. You must notify Nansen immediately of any unauthorized use of your API Credentials or any other breach of security.

Rate Limiting and Usage Restrictions

Nansen implements rate limiting on the API Services to ensure system stability and fair usage. The specific rate limits applicable to your use of the API Services will be determined based on your subscription tier and will be communicated to you through the documentation or your account settings. You agree not to attempt to circumvent any rate limiting mechanisms or other technical measures implemented by Nansen.

Nansen reserves the right to modify the rate limits at any time to protect the integrity and performance of the API Services.

Intellectual Property Rights

Ownership

As between you and Nansen, Nansen exclusively owns and reserves all right, title, and interest in and to the API Services, including all related intellectual property rights. This includes, but is not limited to, the API Services' software, design, text, graphics, interfaces, logos, and the selection and arrangement thereof. Nothing in these API Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.

Proprietary Blockchain Data and Labels

Nansen's proprietary labeled blockchain data, entity classifications, and analytics methodologies constitute core intellectual property assets of Nansen. All proprietary labeled data, entity classifications, and blockchain analytics methodologies (collectively, "Nansen Data") made available through the API Services are owned exclusively by Nansen and are licensed, not sold, to you.

You acknowledge and agree that the Nansen Data represents significant investment by Nansen and constitutes valuable trade secrets and confidential information of Nansen. Any use of the Nansen Data not expressly authorized by these API Terms is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Activities

In addition to the restrictions set forth in the Agreements, you shall not, and shall not permit any third party to:

  1. Use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, or other automated process or mechanism to access, scrape, crawl, index, copy, or extract any aspect of the API Services or Nansen Data, except as expressly permitted by Nansen in writing;

  2. Create permanent or cached copies of any API Services or Nansen Data beyond timeframes specified in the documentation;

  3. Use the API Services or Nansen Data to develop, train, update, or improve any machine learning algorithms, artificial intelligence technologies, models, or similar technologies;

  4. Use the API Services or Nansen Data to create, develop, produce, market, or support any product, service, or functionality that is substantially similar to or competes with Nansen's products or services;

  5. Merge or combine Nansen Data with other datasets for external distribution, commercial products, or public-facing applications without Nansen's prior written permission. However, you may combine Nansen Data with other datasets solely for your internal business intelligence, analysis, and decision-making purposes, provided that such combined datasets are not redistributed outside your organization;

  6. Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise discover the source code, algorithms, or methods used by Nansen to generate labels, entity classifications, or other proprietary elements of the Nansen Data;

  7. Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the API Services, including features that prevent or restrict the use or copying of any content;

  8. Use the API Services in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the API Services or interfere with any other party's use of the API Services;

  9. Use the API Services or Nansen Data to facilitate potentially illicit blockchain transactions, to circumvent regulatory requirements, or to facilitate transactions with sanctioned entities; or

  10. Attempt to de-anonymize blockchain addresses beyond Nansen's labeling or use the API Services to identify natural persons controlling specific blockchain addresses, except as expressly permitted by applicable law and Nansen's documentation.

Restricted Endpoints

Certain endpoints may be designated as restricted. Access to such endpoints requires prior approval through our designated form. Approval is at our sole discretion and may be withdrawn at any time. You must not attempt to circumvent these restrictions, including by indirect use through MCP.

Data Use

You may use data obtained through the API or MCP to generate analyses or insights, provided they do not disclose raw or substantially unmodified Nansen Data externally. Redistribution of raw, bulk, or aggregated Nansen Data is prohibited without our prior written consent, except where expressly permitted in our Data Redistribution Guidelines. Upon our written request, you must promptly disclose the identity and contact information of any third parties to whom you redistribute Nansen Data pursuant to such permitted redistribution. Our Data Redistribution Guidelines (available at docs.nansen.ai/guides/data-redistribution-guidelines) are incorporated by reference.

Competitor Access

We may, in our discretion, restrict or prohibit access to the API, MCP, or Nansen Data by competitors or users reasonably believed to be acting on behalf of competitors.

Attribution Requirements

When using Nansen Data in your applications, products, or services, you must provide proper attribution to Nansen. Such attribution must:

  1. Be prominently displayed using the format "Powered by Nansen" or "Data provided by Nansen" in a reasonably visible location;

  2. For digital outputs, include the Nansen logo or name with a minimum size and visibility as specified in the documentation;

  3. For printed materials, include appropriate attribution on the same page as any Nansen Data;

  4. Not suggest or imply that Nansen has created, endorsed, or approved your applications, products, or services; and

  5. Comply with any visual guidelines provided by Nansen for attribution implementation.

You shall not remove, obscure, or alter any attribution notices provided with the Nansen Data.

Representations and Warranties

You represent and warrant to Nansen that:

  1. You have the legal authority to enter into these API Terms and to bind yourself or the entity you represent;

  2. Your use of the API Services will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and the Agreements;

  3. You will implement and maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect the API Services and Nansen Data;

  4. You will comply with all applicable blockchain and cryptocurrency regulations in the jurisdictions where you operate;

  5. You will handle any personal data processed in connection with the API Services in compliance with applicable data protection laws; and

  6. Your applications, products, or services that incorporate or use the API Services or Nansen Data will not infringe or misappropriate any third party's intellectual property rights.

Disclaimers

THE API SERVICES AND NANSEN DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NANSEN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

NANSEN DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE API SERVICES OR NANSEN DATA WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR ENTIRELY SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT BLOCKCHAIN DATA, INCLUDING THE NANSEN DATA, IS SUBJECT TO INHERENT LIMITATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS OF BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY, SUCH AS:

  1. POTENTIAL CHAIN REORGANIZATIONS THAT MAY AFFECT HISTORICAL DATA;

  2. THE PROBABILISTIC NATURE OF ENTITY IDENTIFICATION AND CLASSIFICATION;

  3. POTENTIAL LATENCY IN DATA AVAILABILITY, PARTICULARLY FOR DECENTRALIZED EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS; AND

  4. CHANGES TO LABELS AS NEW INFORMATION BECOMES AVAILABLE.

NANSEN MAKES NO INVESTMENT, FINANCIAL, OR TRADING ADVICE BY PROVIDING THE API SERVICES OR NANSEN DATA, AND YOU SHOULD NOT MAKE ANY INVESTMENT, FINANCIAL, OR TRADING DECISIONS BASED SOLELY ON THE NANSEN DATA WITHOUT CONDUCTING YOUR OWN DUE DILIGENCE.

Term and Termination

Term

These API Terms will remain in effect until terminated by either you or Nansen as described below.

Termination by You

You may terminate these API Terms at any time by ceasing all use of the API Services and Nansen Data.

Termination by Nansen

Nansen reserves the right to terminate these API Terms and your access to the API Services, in whole or in part, at any time for any reason without liability, including but not limited to:

  1. Your breach or violation of these API Terms or the Agreements;

  2. Nansen's reasonable belief that your use of the API Services may create regulatory risk or liability for Nansen;

  3. Your use of the API Services in a manner that Nansen determines, in its sole discretion, to be excessive or abusive;

  4. Extended periods of inactivity; or

  5. Nansen's decision to discontinue offering the API Services or any portion thereof.

Nansen may terminate these API Terms with immediate effect for violations of the prohibited activities, or with thirty (30) days' prior written notice for termination without cause.

Blockchain-Specific Considerations

Data Accuracy Limitations

You acknowledge that blockchain data, including the Nansen Data, has inherent limitations:

  1. Blockchain reorganizations may affect the historical data available through the API Services;

  2. Entity identification and classification are probabilistic in nature and subject to change as new information becomes available;

  3. Data availability may experience latency, particularly for decentralized exchange transactions; and

  4. Labels and classifications may be updated over time as new information becomes available.

Modifications to API Terms

Nansen reserves the right to modify these API Terms at any time at its sole discretion. Nansen will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated API Terms on the Nansen website or by directly notifying you. Your continued use of the API Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the modified API Terms. If you do not agree to the modified API Terms, you must immediately cease using the API Services.
